Hard
Drive Capacities
The abbreviation GB and the term "gigabyte" are used
to represent the decimal value of 10^9 or One Billion Bytes.
This differs from the binary definition of a gigabyte, which
is 2^30 or 1,073,741,824 bytes. The same method of rounding
off drive capacities is used by hard drive manufacturers when
describing drive capacity. Software which reports drive
capacities in binary gigabytes will report the capacity as a
lower number than appears in published specifications.
CD/DVD
ROM Drive Speeds
When CD ROMs were first developed, they transferred
data at 150kb/s. As the technology progressed drives were able
to read at speeds of 300kb/s. Since this was twice as
fast, these drives were described as 2X. This continued up to
some where around 8X. To further increase speed, drive
manufacturers developed techniques where the drive could read
data faster from the outside tracks than the inside tracks.
Although this made the maximum transfer rate faster, the
minimum and average transfer rates were never as high as the
maximum. Nearly all computer companies, Keydata
included, stuck to the X speed (e.g. 10X, 20X, 30X) when
describing drives. Although this method is not 100%
technically accurate, this does allow a general basis for
comparing drives. All drive specifications
published represent maximum transfer rates.
56K
MODEMS
Although the modems are capable of 56k speeds, FCC
regulations limit speeds to 53k. 56k speed is for downstream
data only, upstream data operates at lower rates (comparable
to a 33.6 modem). Maximum attainable speeds will vary
depending upon server equipment, telephone lines, your
proximity to the telephone company office, and other
influences.
Screen
Sizes
Screen sizes are measured diagonally with the LCD out
of the system. The actual viewing area may vary based on the
model of the LCD panel used in the system and the design of
the system itself.
Weights
Weight specifications listed are for nominal
configurations of the system unit only. The actual weight will
vary based on the configuration and options installed. Weights
do not include accessories, carrying cases, or any other
peripherals provided with the computer.
Dimensions
The dimensions listed are for the base model. The
actual unit dimensions may vary based on the configuration and
options installed.
Specification
Changes
Specifications subject to change without notice. Some
specifications may not apply to all variations and
configurations. Certain options and specifications have been
incorporated as technology progresses. These features cannot
be added to systems which were not manufactured with these
options.

to ensure that the computer is compatible with most industry
standard hardware and software, the computer is not warranted
to be compatible with any specific hardware or software
product or any combination of hardware or software products.
5. Batteries and consumable
parts
This section covers computer batteries. Batteries,
although rechargeable, have a limited useful lifespan. Keydata
warrants consumable items to be free of defects in materials
and workmanship for a period of 90 days from the date of
original purchase. The actual lifespan of these items
will depend upon use. To ensure the longest possible
lifespan, please follow any guidelines in the user manual.
6. Warranty is not transferable
This warranty is extended to the original purchaser as listed
on the invoice from Keydata and is not transferable to other
parties.
7. “DEAD” PIXELs
LCD screens are made up of a matrix of many individual
transistors, typically 2.4 million. Due to limits in LCD
manufacturing technology, occasionally some of these
transistors will not be properly formed in the manufacturing
process and will always display a fixed color or will not
illuminate. This will cause a small fixed dot on the
screen. These dots are referred to as “dead
pixels”. Since this is a limitation of the
manufacturing process, a LCD with less than 8 individual dead
pixels or 4 dead pixels in a single group is considered good
and not defective.
8. Warranty Process
If you feel that your computer requires service, please
contact Keydata’s Technical support at
[email protected] or 732/868-0588 Technical
support will evaluate your problem and determine if the
computer requires service or if the problem can be solved over
the phone or by some other means. You will have to make
a reasonable effort to assist the technician over the phone.
If it is determined that your computer requires service, the
support technician will issue you a Return Merchandise
Authorization (RMA) number. Package the hardware in original
packaging or equivalent packing if the original packaging is
either in poor condition or not available. It is only
necessary to send hardware which relates to your problem
(example: if you have a problem with your power supply you do
not need to send in any manuals or software) RMA numbers
are valid for 14 Days. In order to be considered for warranty,
any parts must be returned to Keydata within the warranty
period, or 14 days whichever is longer. If a part is
returned after this period it will be considered out of
warranty.
Ship the hardware to:
Keydata
ATTN: (your RMA number)

identified, will be refused. You are responsible for any
shipping charges, taxes, or duties incurred to return the
computer to Keydata. Make sure to insure the package in case
of loss or damage during shipping. You will be
responsible for the items until they are received by Keydata.

the computer prior to shipping, we cannot be responsible for

receiving the hardware we will examine, diagnose, and repair
the hardware. If a component is found to be defective,
at Keydata’s sole discretion, it will either be repaired or
replaced with a new or serviceably new part. Any parts
replaced during the warranty period will become the property
of Keydata. If a part is replaced, that individual part
will be covered by this warranty for the remainder of the
warranty period or 30 days, whichever is longer. This process
typically takes a few days, however this may vary depending
upon service department workload or parts availability. We
will return the computer to points within the U.S. via ground
